Fire protection of the steel structures of public, residential and commercial buildings and structures with large occupancy is an important factor and is regulated in Uzbekistan by ShNK 2.01.02-04 "Fire safety of buildings and structures". Such facilities include all the buildings of the "Tashkent City" complex, the LOT 3, LOT 6 and LOT 5 towers, the shopping megamall, and the Hilton Hotel.
At the stage of fire-protection work on the steel, the primer coating was inspected for possible defects.

Where chips, defects or damage were found, the primer was repaired and brought up to the standard dry-film thickness.

Then, depending on the fire-resistance rating of the buildings determined per ShNK 2.01.02-04, the load-bearing structures were treated with fire-retardant paint at a film thickness according to the test report of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan.

The thickness of the fire-protection coating was checked with a thickness gauge, taking one measurement for every 20 sq. m of the painted area.
