Fire-protection, anti-corrosion materials and floors in Kokand

Kokand is a city in Fergana Region with chemical production and light-industry enterprises. Their coating requirements differ: a chemical workshop needs resistance to an aggressive environment, while a light-industry building needs, above all, fire protection for its steel frame. For both tasks STATERM supplies Kokand with its own materials: Stacor systems and TERM fire protection.

The experience we draw on

In profile, the STATERM project closest to Kokand’s enterprises is the one at the Navoiazot chemical plant in Navoi Region. It is this experience that we draw on when selecting materials for Kokand.

Chemical resistance: metal and concrete

Epoxy primer. Stacor EP is suitable for atmospheres up to C5-M according to ISO 12944 — it is the first coat of the system on the metal structures of a chemical workshop.

Steel and concrete with one material. Stacor EP HS withstands chemical attack and wear and is resistant to vibration and impact. It is applied not only to metal but also to concrete, so one system protects both the structures and the concrete surfaces of the workshop.

A finish for metal in the sun. Outdoor structures are coated with Stacor Topcoat acrylic-polyurethane enamel: it is UV-resistant, retains its colour and gloss, and can be tinted to RAL.

Fire protection for light-industry buildings

Steel frames. TERM-007 is a white thin-film intumescent coating that raises the fire-resistance limit of steel structures up to 120 minutes. In a dry workshop it is used without a topcoat; in a humid one, a protective enamel is applied over it.

Timber elements. For wood there is TERM-001, a clear fire- and bio-protective treatment: it protects against fire and biological damage, while the texture of the wood remains visible.

What if sandblasting is not possible in an operating area?

For this case there is a zinc phosphate epoxy primer, Stacor EP Rapid: it is suitable for manual surface preparation to St3 and cures quickly.

Can fire protection be applied to a galvanised workshop frame?

Yes. On galvanised steel, TERM-007 is applied over an adhesion primer; on bare steel, over an anti-corrosion primer. We will confirm the layer build-up from a description of the frame.
