Navoi TPP
Navoi thermal power plant. Construction of a large combined-cycle power plant with a capacity of more than 600 MW.
The steel frame of the main building was treated under the full scheme: cleaning and preparation of the metal, removal of grease and dust, restoration of damaged areas of the shop primer, then the fire-protective layer and the finishing topcoat enamel.
The outdoor pipe racks followed a shorter scheme — surface preparation, primer repair and a weather-resistant anti-corrosion enamel without a fire-protective layer: in the open air the task is different, to protect the steel from corrosion.
The frame of the main building is protected by a fire-protective coating under a finishing enamel, and the pipe racks by an anti-corrosion enamel. Both systems were applied over a restored primer, and it is the condition of that primer that determines how long the coating actually lasts on a power plant.
