Fire protection of chemical-industry facilities has specific features due to the aggressive operating environment. 

An important factor in the long service life of the anti-corrosion and fire protection of steel structures is a correctly selected steel coating system. 

For structures operated in the ambient air atmosphere at this facility, standard cleaning of the steel from mill scale and traces of corrosion was carried out by blast cleaning with copper slag to a surface profile of Rz = 50-80 µm. 

Then an epoxy primer with a thickness of 100 µm was applied. 

After that, the structures were coated with a fire-retardant paint for exterior use, bringing the steel to the required fire-resistance limits. 

At the final stage, all structures were coated with a weather-resistant topcoat based on two-component acrylic urethane.
